    DJ Biography

    Vic Light, otherwise known as V-i-C, is an up and coming Trance DJ based in Bournemouth in the United Kingdom.

    He is best known for his high energy, Euphoric Trance DJ’ing style and is extremely technical with everything that he mixes.

    Although his main focus is Trance, he occasionally diversifies to play Hard NRG Hard House which, like the Trance that he adores, is also driving and very energetic.

    He first started DJ'ing in 2000 using a pair of Citronic Belt Drive turntables and in 2002 he played his first gig along side legendary London Techno DJ, James 'Sterling' Moss. Since then he has gone on to play with some of the worlds biggest Trance and Hard House DJ's such as Matt Hardwick, Judge Jules, Brian Kearney, Lee Haslam, Ben Gold, JP & Jukesy, Alex Kidd, The Organ Donors etc.

    After taking a 4 year break from DJ'ing, V-i-C has returned to the decks bigger and better than ever. He is regularly playing sets all over the UK from Bournemouth to Birmingham to Coleville and spent a very successful season DJ'ing in Ibiza, including becoming a resident DJ @ Atomik Ibiza 2009 but has ended the year on a special high after being asked to play at one of the biggest events in the country, Passion Vs Storm on New Years Eve.

    With all that has gone on in 2009, 2010 is set to be an amazing year for Vic.

    With his first Trance productions soon to be completed, a monthly internet radio show on the massive Slinky.fm and a bi-monthly show on dancebiscuit.com , V-i-C is a DJ to be watched very closely!

    V-i-C Presents… A Lesson in Trance on Slinky.fm Episode 006 (17th March 2010)

    Episode 006 is upon us and in my opinion, one of the best mixes I’ve done for a while. The quality new tunes around at the moment is mind blowing. In fact, it was harder to choose the tunes that I had to leave out than it was to know which ones to include. Massive tunes such as Leon Bolier – Shimamoto and the new tune from Richard Durand, titled “Tigers Apology” which are both fantastic but there just wasn’t room for them.

    On to the tunes that WERE included… A fairly uplifting mix this month. Starting off with some nice dirty trance like the Barns and Heatcliff remix of tyDi’s “Good Dream” and going all out epic towards the end with “Trance Arts – Crying Mermaids”.

    A few tunes made a return this month such as BT’s Every Other Way, Deadly Nightshade and Neitherworld but the new tunes are what really made this show. Of special note “Esturion” by Agustin Servente (a.k.a. one half of Heatbeat) and “Klauss Goulart – Misty (Fabio Stein’s Uprise In ‘99 Remix)” which both absolutely blow me away every time I hear them. I’m also becoming a big fan of Trance Arts after his Twisted Tales EP (available on Unearthed Records).

    Episode 005 has been a long time coming due to various reasons beyond my control but the return of the first true episode has been an absolute blast and has received a lot of great feedback so far. Hopefully the show will be back on a regular monthly basis again from now on.

    Thanks for listening to Episode 004,  I hope you enjoyed listening as much as I enjoyed mixing it.

    I can’t believe the amount of good, new music around at the moment. TimeWave Zero is being hammered by pretty much everyone, and for good reason. Also tunes such as Filo & Peri – Drops of Jupiter and Matt Hardwick – I Am DJ (Ben Gold Remix)  make me glad to love trance, both tunes sending the crowd absolutely crazy when I played them out last weekend. Some of the other tunes that are really doing it for me at the moment are Cressida – Onyric (Stoneface & Terminal Remix), Avernus – Tears Of A Saint (Arctic Moon Remix), Store N Forward – Hello World (Akesson Remix) and Reverse & Deep Voices – Distant Destiny (Original Mix) which are also all superb.

    You may notice that I’ve ended this episode on a much harder note than usual, but after finally getting my hands on the JOC rework of Big Sky that I’ve been trying to get my hands on for around a year now I just felt I had to go out with a bang and I do love the O’Callaghan techy sound (p.s. if you’ve not heard the new John O’Callaghan artist album “Never Fade Away” go and buy it, right now as it’s superb!)

    Unfortunately this show will be my final show until October as I will be spending the next 3 months in Ibiza, enjoying myself to the max but when I’m back I’ll be sure to return with more of what you love the most and that’s nothing but the best music around :)

    This month has been a particually good month and we’ve had some amazing new tunes from the likes of Jonas Hornblad who’s currently my favourite producer, tyDi & Trent McDermott, Leon Boiler, Ferry Corsten, Paul Miller and Corderoy.

    Also, I know I’m still playing Activa – This World but it’s one of my fave tunes of the year along with Thump. I’m still enjoying Mercury Retrograde and can’t get enough of Guiseppe.

    Also a big shout out to all those who were involved in the discussion of ASOT Episode 400.
